Purpose
Keeping the Beat (KTB) is dedicated to promoting cardiovascular health through CPR and emergency response training, EKG education and screening initiatives, and student-led health outreach. We aim to empower individuals with the knowledge and skills to recognize and respond to cardiovascular conditions while fostering disease prevention and awareness within the community. KTB’s CPR program is in partnership with the Revive and Survive Initiative, offering bilingual (English and Spanish) training sessions to community requests. KTB’s EKG program is in collaboration with the cardiovascular medicine team and the Recreation team, providing year-round free heart screening services to students and faculty members at the RIMAC gym, Main Gym, and Warren fields. KTB’s Cardiovascular Health Awareness & Promotion (CHAP) program is a new platform where routine media posts advocating for cardiovascular health awareness will be delivered to the local community and beyond.
