Purpose
Project Headway is a student-led initiative dedicated to advancing awareness, education, advocacy, and research surrounding migraine and headache disorders amongst students and the community. Project Headway’s goal is to address the burden on patients and the under-recognition of headache disorders by creating meaningful opportunities for students to contribute to headache-related initiatives. Specifically, members of Project Headway have the opportunity to engage in advocacy, community outreach, research, and professional development, especially in the headache and medical field, Through partnerships with healthcare professionals, researchers, patient advocacy organizations, and campus and community organizations, members develop skills in research, public health, leadership, and patient advocacy. Within the campus community, Project Headway seeks to connect students with relevant resources and advocate for a campus environment that better recognizes the impacts of migraine and headache conditions. Project Headway also creates opportunities for members to expand the understanding of the barriers that patients face on the college campus, ultimately improving the academic experience.
