Purpose
The Global Health Collective at UC San Diego is a student-led organization dedicated to engagement with global and humanitarian health challenges through interdisciplinary collaboration, research, project development, and critical dialogue. The organization provides a space for UC San Diego students to work on concrete global health initiatives that address health inequities, structural barriers to care, health system constraints, and social determinants of health in both local and international contexts. Ptharticipation in the Collective is flexible, allowing members to contribute based on their interests, skills, and availability. Through regular meetings, collaborative projects, and partnerships with external organizations, the Collective aims to equip students with a grounded understanding of global health practice and the ethical responsibilities involved in addressing complex health challenges. Members develop skills relevant to healthcare, public health, policy, law, research and advocacy while engaging thoughtfully with issues of equity, access, and justice.
