- Purpose
- Conlang Club exists in order to create a safe, social, and educational space for those interested in studying or creating constructed languages, or conlangs for short. Conlangs are languages constructed by a person or group, rather than a natural language, natlang for short, that develops through the course of human history. Conlangs can be spoken, written, signed, conveyed through music, or transmitted through other various modalities, as can natlangs. We aim to teach about various existing conlangs and how our members can construct their own conlangs on their own time. As the ultimate goal of our organization, we also strive to create a conlang as a collaborative effort with our club members, creating our own unique system of communication. As a Conlang Club tradition, our organization’s conlang shall be passed down through iterations of the club, undergoing evolution through the contributions of new members throughout the course of this organization’s existence.
