Purpose
Medical Aid Initiative at UC San Diego aims to help identify and reallocate excess, unused medical supplies from UC San Diego Health facilities to groups that provide free health services to underserved communities. We are partnered with various local organizations that serve communities in need in the San Diego region as well as globally. We are dedicated to both improving local and global access to healthcare and promoting sustainability by reducing medical waste. Members will have the unique opportunity to gain hands-on and real-world public health experience, help facilitate the medical supply reallocation process, learn about sustainability in hospital systems, and join a community of students passionate about addressing health disparities.
