Purpose
We are a student-led organization dedicated to improving access, inclusion, and support for disabled and marginalized communities, both on campus and in the surrounding area. Our initiatives have included providing free testing materials to all students, hosting a free food day in collaboration with the campus food co-op, volunteering monthly with Lunch at the Park in Chicano Park to prepare and distribute meals, and distributing Know Your Rights cards throughout South Bay San Diego, from San Ysidro to Chula Vista. Currently, we are collaborating with another organization to establish a dedicated disabled student space on campus, ensuring that disabled students feel empowered, supported, and have a strong sense of belonging at UC San Diego. Inspired by the values and movements of POC, disability, and queer community leaders from the 1960s and ’70s, we strive to build solidarity, provide direct support, and create community-driven solutions that make a tangible difference in students’ lives.
