Purpose
The American Pacific Health Foundation (APHF) aims to establish a presence at UCSD to promote health education and provide free health screenings to underserved populations in San Diego. The goal of the organization is to advance health and wellness, particularly for vulnerable groups. These include screenings for chronic conditions like hepatitis B and C, diabetes, hypertension, and more, fostering proactive health management within the community. The organization focuses on raising awareness and addressing health disparities among underserved and vulnerable populations. By joining APHF, members will have the opportunity to contribute to impactful public health initiatives, gain hands-on experience in healthcare outreach, and develop leadership skills, especially through volunteer programs designed for students and community members. Establishing APHF at UCSD will provide members with the chance to participate in meaningful community service while also receiving valuable educational and professional development experiences in the health sector.
