- Purpose
- The Bracelets for Empowerment And Development (BEAD) Program aims to provide widowed women in rural regions of Nigeria with the skill set of jewelry making as a source of economic and health security. In collaboration with the Faith Alive Foundation and Thrive Ministry and Mission, the BEAD Program has two main objectives: (1) To be an integral skills acquisition program and source of financial independence for both widows and younger women in rural Africa; (2) To produce revenue for the women that in part will be used to buy long-lasting insecticidal nets (LLINs) for the prevention of mosquito-borne disease in the local community, as well as investment in infrastructure in the women’s villages.
