- Purpose
- The Trauma & Occupational Injury Prevention Program facilitates community well-being through volunteering events, research, education, and resource dissemination. The Trauma & Occupational Services dedicates focus to the development and maintenance of injury prevention programs focused on injuries stemming from trauma, external hazards, and acute risk environments. Our current endeavors include longevity and mobility classes taught weekly at senior residential facilities, health fairs for underserved populations, injury prevention presentations, joint events with UCSD trauma and Scripps, and much more. Volunteering is flexible (held on weekends at various times), meaningful (you can develop bonds with many people such as seniors and learn their health stories), as well as designed to build your pre professional skills. We ask for no membership fee, have no prerequisites, have no minimum volunteering requirements, and provide relevant training to support your success.
