Purpose
The primary purpose of the non-profit Biological Sciences Student Association (BSSA) is to unify biology majors through volunteering, academic, and social activities that enhance their overall experience as biology students at UCSD. We provide them with resources and support which may further their success throughout the undergraduate and graduate years and assist the transition to life beyond the degree. Additionally, the BSSA welcomes new undergraduates to the world of biology, encouraging the initiation of biological and scientific research both at UCSD and the surrounding institutions, creating accessible connections to mentors within the field of biological sciences and healthcare while also providing resources to learn about other positions in the biological sciences field.
