Rosa Parks Tutoring Program

Service & Changemaking Category

Academic Year
The purpose of the Rosa Parks Tutoring Program is to give UCSD graduate students the opportunity to offer free tutoring services to students at Rosa Parks Elementary School who are either recommended by teachers to be tutored or who independently seek out tutoring. The organization seeks to improve relations between UCSD students and the local community. UCSD graduate students who are members of this organization are afforded the opportunity to share their reading, writing and math skills with young learners, reap the enjoyment of helping students in a formative stage of their education, and experience the satisfaction of witnessing progress in the students’ performances.
