Purpose
SPARK is a science outreach program that was created to increase awareness and improve education about important scientific processes. SPARK's purpose is to reduce disparities in scientific literacy through an interactive program that targets middle schools in underserved communities. We hope to inspire students to think critically about taking advanced scientific courses in high school, which will inherently influence their major choice in college, and thus their career trajectory. Ultimately, our goal is to provide students with information and resources relevant to careers in STEM in an effort to achieve equality within this dynamic and multifaceted field.
