Purpose
Jewish Voices for Peace (JVP) at UC San Diego aims to: - Create a community space for students and others at UC San Diego who are experiencing alienated Jewish identities / not belonging in the mainstream. - Create a community for a students of all faiths. - Uplift the voices of those who feel unheard in traditional spaces and the voices of the oppressed. - Promote dialogue and create a space in which people feel comfortable engaging in discourse, and hosting events, fundraisers, and discussions that contribute to our mission. - Promote education on and off campus about Palestine and Israel, the importance of the Palestinian led call for Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) and non-violent activism and about other globally issues tied to oppression.
